Hah! Yes, exactly; half of those computers, at least, didn't start out mine. And actually, right now the only computer-y thing I use that I've bought myself is my ipad; I'm using a hand-me-down 5-yr-old PC for a desktop system and I have a hand-me-down 8-yr-old iMac set up as well that has vidding software on it, plus a work laptop.

I'll just la-la-la my way past the three dead or dying TiVos I haven't dealt with yet. And the random other electronics like VCRs and dvd players...

Although the VCRs I am actively hoarding in therienne's basement, and keeping one in my living room. There's too much source that never made it onto DVD and probably never will, and I keep twitching at the thought of having a sole VCR die and never being able to capture from tape again. (I've digitized most of it, but I don't trust home-burned DVDs to last. Tape may degrade, but it takes a damn long time for it to become entirely unwatchable.)

I guess I'm waiting for the coming Great Hard Drive Shortage, or maybe the Zombie Hard Drive Apocalypse, when the dead drives come to life and cannabalize my nice new Mac.
