Ugh the more I think about this, the more my head hurts and the more I am like "ewwww google, dnw!" I usually don't use public wifi either, but if they can gather location info based off private wifi ... I mean I know they already know your general location based on your ISP, but if they could narrow it down that would be hella creepy.
