I'm really unclear on how checking mail on phones will work, honestly; my gut feeling is that if the third-party app is logging in to Gmail to get the mail, then it counts as logging in. But that's purely a guess.

There's also the problem that Android is a Google service to begin with, so if you update your apps or go to get new ones, you'll be logging into Google that way, as well.
