Welp, you and mollyamory did the trick...I asked for a card! Ulp.
Well, honestly, I'm more capable of thinking creatively for things I haven't been assigned myself, as I get to skip the whole tharn phase of panic and lockdown. *g*
Heh. Yeah, that was a concern of mine...I was attracted by seeing other peoples' cards and going Oh wow, totally cool, I can imagine x y z...but when it's my responsibility, then comes the tharn stage.
I'm not sure that would qualify, as the pregnancy would have to directly affect your characters; it can't just be incidental.
Point taken! Although I had imagined that the numbered-woman's pregnancy would be a big cause of everything that happened to Reese and Finch--for instance, that her pregnancy was the precise thing putting her in such danger. Which danger they then put themselves in the way of, while helping look after her and her particular needs. Would that still be incidental, do you think? (Although I really like your ideas and would gladly steal borrow them with permission if necessary...)
our beloved clam had added another layer of shell, and the other beloved clam had noticed and silently investigated and then gently brushed his fingers across the back of the first clam's hand at an opportune moment...
Oh, boys, GET A ROOM. :D
I tend to forget that this allows for pretty short writing, too
I definitely forget this, all the time! But my focus will have to be on short pieces, forcibly if necessary, since part of my overall goal is to get more experience/comfort in writing short.
and we could do our own mini-deadlines -- one story a month, or something
Let's do! Let's have some kind of accountability deal together. I mean, writing while hanging with mollyamory and marycrawford got me over a thousand words into the stalled comment fic (or rather, by now, "comment fic") I promised Lydia, just over the past couple of nights!
