pregnancy would be a big cause of everything that happened to Reese and Finch--for instance, that her pregnancy was the precise thing putting her in such danger. Which danger they then put themselves in the way of, while helping look after her and her particular needs. Would that still be incidental, do you think?

Hm -- I'm not sure, honestly! I mean, that's definitely pregnancy leading to bad things. But fwiw, for myself, I think I wouldn't write it that way, because it feels a bit more like a plot device that leads to the hurt that requires comfort, rather than itself providing a hurt that requires comfort (e.g., so the comfort would be about a bullet wound or head trauma from falling off a wall, rather than comfort about something pregnancy-related). But I tend to take a fairly conservative view about this stuff sometimes. *G* And I don't think the mods police responses, particularly -- they just want stories inspired by the prompts, which that idea definitely is.

Okay, and looking at the rules, it looks like as long as the pregnancy is a key part of the plot, it would be okay:

"Your work should have more than just a singular mention of the prompt. It should deal with it in some way. For example, if your prompt is "broken bone" that should be a significant factor in your work not just a passing mention. How you deal with a prompt is left at your discretion."

So no worries!

Oh, boys, GET A ROOM. :D

heeee

Did you read Ces's story? You should, it is lovely!

Let's do! Let's have some kind of accountability deal together. I mean, writing while hanging with [personal profile] mollyamory and [personal profile] marycrawford got me over a thousand words into the stalled comment fic (or rather, by now, "comment fic") I promised Lydia, just over the past couple of nights!

Oh, that is fabulous!

And I am all for an accountability thing, and/or group writing hours, or what have you. Although I may beg off for June on accounta vidding psychosis. (Although who knows, maybe by next week I'll be desperate to do something that doesn't involve beats and stray frames...)
