This is so cool to read about -- familiar in some ways, but also so unlike my first fannish experiences.

I remember a conversation with someone where I was all "oh, huh, it never occurred to me to listen to music like that, to match it to a show" and them saying that once you start doing it, you can't help it, you do it all the time.

Ahahahaha. TRUER WORDS. I was a music fan long before I was a media fan, so the only reason it had never occurred to me to match songs with shows was that I didn't watch TV; once I started watching TV and then wandered into media fandom, thinking about TV in terms of songs made so much sense to me. No wonder I fell headfirst into vids. And now my vids-to-be playlist is just... embarrassingly long, given my speed of output. *facepalm*
