hc_bingo, once again!
If I sign up for
hc_bingo enough, eventually I will actually manage to pull off a bingo, right?
This year's card:
Most of this is stuff I haven't written, but hey, it's good to expand your comfort zones. And there are only a couple I'm eyeing particularly askance. Pretty good card, overall!

And even with the flogging, I was just thinking about it since you mentioned it and realized that technically I have something I could do -- there's always Crusoe canonically being flogged, and Friday caring for him after. I could just missing-scene/extended-scene that up a bit, if I wound up needing to do a row with that square in it. (Without a canonical scene to work off, I just can't even. no no.) (And it's not my first choice of square/row to tackle!)
There are a few others I'm side-eyeing a bit -- like de-aging and stockholm syndrome -- but I figure there are ways to creatively interpret them in a pinch. (Brainwashing would be there, too, and even is to a minor extent, but there's always Kelly, and Loki's minions...)
What was your other main squick on mine?

And never underestimate the usefulness of canonical flogging! Which reminds me...
Brainwashing would be there, too, and even is to a minor extent, but there's always Kelly
There IS always Kelly. When in search of a canonical hurt, you should have him in your pocket just in case! I mean, he's also a possibility for flogging, if you posited a missing scene in Room With a Rack (aka THEY TORTURE KELLY) or a pre-episode explanation for his injuries in Home to Judgment (aka SOMEONE ALREADY TORTURED KELLY). :D He's like a Swiss Army Knife of canon-H for your H/C needs.
De-aging is one of those fantastical ones that I figured I'd have to get very metaphorical about. (I mean, weirdo universes like Haven excluded.)

Seriously, he is so useful! *g* I was thinking about him for the flogging too, after I hit post on the comment. Because of course he's good for *everything*. Your center row basically shouts "oh look a giant angsty Kelly story!" at me, for instance. *g* (although equally almost anyone else, really -- like maybe Reese, with Finch in the background desperately searching for him...)
I'm pretty willing to just go flat-out cracky, but de-aging has never been my thing, so that one's harder. But not impossible, I think... (... I hope. *g*)

*hugs Kelly pre-emptively*
*...and Reese too*
But not impossible, I think...
Not impossible! And I mean, if you're using it for a realistic-universe fandom and don't want to go magical-realism or cracky, I was imagining possible interpretations like... Oh, let's take Kelly, just since he's already here and suffering so helpfully. *g* Maybe Kelly has to infiltrate/seduce/socialize his way into a particular expat group. But by this time in his career, the folks in the group are all a lot younger than he is. So he has to 1) pitch himself as a slightly younger guy, and 2) keep up with the energy levels and activities (and maturity levels) preferred by this younger set, to better be included by them instead of being seen as the Dad-Mascot. More of a personal/forcible/metaphorical "de-aging", that would surely bring on a lot of psychological distress for him (re: aging out of the job, falling down on the job, the Department grinding him into the dirt as their expendable tool...), not even to mention the physical toll.
That was just off the top of my head, though, as one angle on an "I am trapped as [in the role of] a younger person and I can't get out" sort of thing. I'm sure there are better ways to go at it, without having to do the "poof, someone is crackily turned into a little kid and their partner has to look after them oh jeez no thank you nooooo". *cough*

heeeeee
Yeah, it's good to have options -- and a square I can ignore unless push comes to shove!
(And a Kelly, as an owie of all trades...)

*makes warding sign*
I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds that not to their taste.

My other squicky thing was de-aging, which you were also side-eyeing a bit. Again, it's one thing if there's something canonical (like the younger version of Jack in SG-1), or if there were supernatural elements in canon that might account for it. Otherwise? DNW.
I'd be okay with Stockholm syndrome connected to someone like Loki, because we've seen him whammy people.

Yeah, if it's canonical flogging, I can usually deal (as long as it's not Passion of the Christ extreme, or the writer doesn't decide to turn it into sexxytiems -- and I know you wouldn't do either!), but only if there's a big, honkin' boatload of comfort afterward (if not, it's just sadism, which is really, really not my thing).
Yeah, exactly - I can't deal with the sadism aspect at all, and the sexxytiems, god no, all I can think is how much it would hurt. I don't like flexing my hand when I've got a paper cut!

Yeah, I was specifically thinking Loki for Stockholm syndrome -- there's some great post-movie fodder there. (Or even during, since it sounds like Clint was practically goa'ulded.) (And, for that matter, there's goa'ulding, or potentially all the Tok'ra hosts, including Jack, Sam, and Jacob...)

Same here. Pain will never be erotic to me (just like incest won't, either).

Totally! That could be really interesting to explore, as a writer. (Wait... who am I kidding? There must be lots of Clint ponders... stories out there already! *g*)
