I'm not really sure; I don't know if running private counts as a completely separate browser or not, or just a second instance of the same browser.
Hm - I think there's a way to test it, though, if you have a second Gmail account or are willing to create one. If you're logged in to Gmail 1 on the private browser and can log in to Gmail 2 on the second browser without it telling you it's logging out your first session (or just automatically loading GMail 1), I think you're good to go.
