Sep. 12th, 2025 03:26 amsovayNot having read any of the source novels, approximately twenty minutes into the first series of Poldark (1975–77) as I lay on the couch self-medicating with the late eighteenth century, I remarked to spatch, "Is there any aspect of this homecoming that is not going to be a clusterfuck?" on which the answer turned out to be no, whence it seems the engine of the plot. Since I came to this show by having to wait for the third season of Turn: Washington's Spies (2014–17) to arrive at my local branch library, I was more than ordinarily entertained by the line pertaining to the hero's soldiering past, "Shocking business, eh? Losing the Colonies." The bomber leather frock coat is as impressive as advertised.

Na Ying’s Husband Denies Cheating After Getting Photographed with a Woman

Uh oh, it looks like Chinese singer Na Ying’s husband Meng Tong is in a bit of a pickle whilst his wife is off vacationing in London with their daughter who is studying overseas. Meng Tong who stayed home in Beijing was recently papped with a young woman at a bar. Looking at the photos, the woman was smiling happily whilst she cosied up against him. Chinese media also reports the pair were spotted holding hands and acting intimate. Friends looked on seemingly unfazed by their relationship.
When it was time to go, the woman was seen helping up Meng Tong who appeared unsteady on his feet. Then the pair hopped into the back seat of a car and left together. When asked by media about it, Na Ying’s husband claimed he was partying with a group of friends at the time and that he was helped into the car because of a leg injury. He also claimed he only gave the woman a ride because they lived in the same apartment complex. Meng Tong apologised for his inappropriate actions and promised to be more careful to avoid further misunderstandings. Around this time, a paparazzi photo also showed that Meng Tong indeed had a leg injury back in August.
Meanwhile, some Netizens weren’t so forgiving at their interactions before he was even helped into the car. It was also pointed out this wasn’t the only time he has been caught in cheating rumours. In 2022 he was photographed with a different young woman, Na Ying defended her husband with a now deleted lawyer’s statement citing the rumours damaged her reputation.
After divorcing former Chinese footie star Gao Feng in 2005, the pop diva married businessman Meng Tong the following year in Canada. The couple have a daughter Meng Xiaotong. Meanwhile, Meng Tong has also stepped in as a stepdad to Na Ying’s son Gao Xing with her ex.

Sep. 11th, 2025 08:02 pmtorachan1. I took another walk after lunch today. It does feel nice to get out, even if it really was too sunny and I felt kind of drained afterwards. (I really wish the streets around my work had more shade!)

I'm Dino, DinoBetta on PoGo, and my favorite 'mon has always been Charizard :}, favorite types are fire and rock and ground. Been playing Pokemon Go for five years-ish now, I'm getting close to level 44, however as of Monday the 8th aka the latest update, my app is completely unusable. Long story short the Niantic email 'help' bot thinks I was/am banned (I'm not) and won't actually give me any useful help, so I guess I'm just going to have to sit around and wait for the next update to drop to see if that fixes the problem.
Very annoyed that my lunch hour fun time and walks-in-the-park app is borked, especially right when an event happened.
Anyway once I can hopefully access the app again, I'll be sure to add my trainer code and good grief if there's anyone local I have so many trading tasks I need to complete, pleeeease. (I will forever be salty they don't allow long-distance pokemon trading.)

(I turn off tilt variation options, because not moving arm or wrist means tilt automatically changes through a stroke ... I may have to disable azimuth for the opposite reason, because I can't change pencil orientation. I don't have the Apple Pencil that supports barrel roll so can't do twists.)
TIL that a pademelon is a small marsupial, not a melon at all... (The new brushes are named after flora/fauna/locationsetc in Tasmania, which means the names aren't functional (no "gel pen" or "smoke" or "medium airbrush", now it's "chocolate" or "sandpiper" or "night heron") ... which means I have no chance at remembering what's what aaaaa
Anyway there are some reeeeally cool brushes and brush options.
(The old brushes will still be available and included, so e.g. old tutorials can still be followed, but I'll probably use the new ones more.)

What am I supposed to say about the day itself? That I am reminded even without the martial canonization of a never-laid grief that nothing is easier to shovel under six feet of lime than memory? The last cousin of my grandparents' generation died earlier this week at nearly a century. The lines to the past snap fast enough, no one needs to hurry them along.
On that note, Andrew Kozma's "The Black Death" (2025). I like that Ulysses S. Grant is top of the list of historical characters Jared Harris wants to play, in part because of his civil rights commitments as president and as a counterweight to his negative figuration in the mythos of the Lost Cause. I need a door in the hall closet to BFI Southbank if they are going to keep doing inaccessibly tantalizing series like last year's complete Powell and Pressburger or, currently, Anna May Wong.
