Seems like a good time to jump back in to posting! I'm happy to do December meme stuff if anyone has any questions/ideas/prompts. (no promises at all on fic, as my fic-writing muscles appear to have atrophied, but who knows)

It's been a heck of a year (or so) - family deaths, moving for the first time in 25 years, moving in with people for the first time in 30+ years, living with a dog for the first time ever, losing that dog a few months later to a degenerative disease :(, watching five cats try to sort out their suddenly merged territory... Interesting times, man.

I've been floating around without a real fandom for years, which continues to feel odd. I'm watching plenty, just not settling all the way in to anything, and not quite wanting to sink into old fandoms either.

The last time I posted was about Leverage; I kept going with that rewatch and it made me really happy. If you're thinking about revisiting it, I highly recommend it!

Stuff I'm currently watching: The Good Place, Killjoys (although I'm behind on the latest season), The Expanse (show only, haven't read the books yet), Great British Bake Off, Grey's Anatomy (through part of s12, working my way forward to live. I blame mollyamory entirely for this one), MCU, Grace & Frankie, and a bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting. Finally saw Venom this past weekend!

Leverage is awesome! I recently fell head over heels for The Expanse and Killjoys.

Leverage is just so much damn fun. Watching it straight through (instead of scattered eps here and there) was really interesting; some things that had bothered me a bit the first time through flowed much better for me on the second.

Expanse and Killjoys are both great choices!

Oh, it's good to see you posting! I still love Leverage, and like you, I've fallen down the happy making rabbit hole that is GBBO. Made it partway through Grace & Frankie, and I'm currently watching Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (pretty but oh so creepy) and about to start Sense8.

Hi! I have watched So Much Baking, including doing what I could to find baking from other countries. It's just so lovely, and it's something I can rewatch really easily and still be invested.

I marathoned the first three seasons of Grace & Frankie last year, finishing up just before YT signups, and was enjoying it so much I signed up to write it (and wound up writing it, much to my surprise). It took me all year to work up to watching s4, then I binged my way through that a few weeks ago. I'm always surprised about liking it as much as I do.

My roommates are watching Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, but I need to be in the right headspace for creepy so I am not. *g*

Sense8 is loads of fun, though! I've been hoarding the finale since it came out because I don't want it to be over, but one of these days I'll give in and watch it.

Oh yeah! I can watch two eps of Sabrina, and then I am *done* and watching GBBO to recover from the creepy-factor. (I wondered if it would rewatch well; I'm glad it hear it does.)

I made it... partway into season 3 of Grace and Frankie? But I was binge-watching through while out visiting another fan and it just started setting off some old scars from my parents' divorce, which oh, yeah, on that level. So we stopped and may take it up again when I go out this year. I did adore it.

I love GBBO: it's so soothing. It almost makes me want to bake!

Right? I'm a terrible baker, but now it's like, how hard could it be to make a Battenberg cake, really? Also now I know what a Battenberg is!

Leverage is our happy place! We rewatch it a lot, especially with the commentaries. We've recently bought seasons 1-3 of The Librarians, sowe've been watching through those, too.

I also love Bake Off. Haven't seen the latest season yet; it's not aired in Australia. Hopefully in the new year, it will.

I should get hold of the Leverage DVDs and do another rewatch with the commentaries; I tend to get caught up in the universe and forget about things like that, but I bet they're great. Librarians is another of my faves, and another one that sort of snuck up on me.

Fingers crossed for the new season of Bake Off. I was boggled to see it being aired on US Netflix immediately after ending in the UK, so hopefully all the releases will be speedy.

If you're going to buy Leverage, make sure you buy the American editions. The international release had zero special features, the US ones are crammed. I have no idea why, but I guess it came down to money. We bought ours from Amazon (i know, they're evil) and have a region free DVD player.

I love The Good Place, even though I was spoiled for it when I watched the first season, and I really enjoyed The Expanse, too. I was a huge GBBO fan, but I've kind of dropped out since Mary and Sue and Mel left.

I'd dropped away from GBBO, too; I was concerned that the whole thing would feel too different. And it wasn't just Mel and Sue, it's Mary, too. (I love watching Mary; she was born around the same time as my mom, and has a lot of the same mannerisms / expressions / attitudes. I think they would have gotten along like a house afire if they'd ever met.) But we needed something to destress with, and gave it a shot, and it's different but still GBBO. I'm enjoying it.

I've been watching a ton of GBBO as well, and some of the international versions. I watched one season of the Canada show and enjoyed that. Have you seen any of the other country versions?

ooo, Canada, I had not heard about that one. I must investigate.

I've seen some of the Australian, some South African, and a couple of the Irish (which I bailed on because the lack of showstopper was leaving me off-balance. Possibly I watch too much baking. Ahem.) And a season of the American, which unsurprisingly was the most meh of the lot, sigh.

But aha, I have located some of the Canada show. You've made my and my roommates' week! <3

It's good to see you around here! I'd love to hear about what moving was like -- I moved so often for so long that I'm still amazed that I've been in one place for these many years.

I do so love The Good Place. I may have told you that I started listening to the podcast? (My first podcast!) I'm still way back in season 1 of it, though.

Good Place and Killjoys are making me so happy. SO HAPPY. And GBBO as well!

I watched the first two seasons of The Expanse and was pretty impressed, and then the first ep of S3, and then my life kind of... went off the rails... and the show fell entirely off my radar, but I gather I should remedy that?
