My Yuletide story won't be going up just yet, because the server my site is housed on is having some problems. When I get it uploaded, I'll announce it here.
I heard you finally got an LJ and here you are. I've been meaning to write to you about the song you used for the vid you and S did for vivid con. Blue skies for Everyone. I *still* haven't seen Joan of Arcadia, but you were going to tell me where I could get that song? It was so bouncy I thought it would be a great running tune.
The JoA one that would be good for running is Big Red Boat -- did you mean that one?
Duh... Yes, Big Red Boat (which was a special edition of it, if I remember correctly) would be it. The bounciness made an impression. That, and the vid made me want to see JoA. My brain is mush these days -- too much work and not enough fannishness, I'm sure. I did write down a couple of the songs -- where I got Blue Skies from no doubt.
Anyway, yeah, I did notice that this was more non-vid LJ. But I only see you about once a year now, so maybe this will be a way to stay a bit more tuned in.
BTW - I loved the essay on epithets. Being in Harry Potter fandom where thin Potions Masters and black haired Gryffindors abound, I'm wondering if I could suggest it to a couple of writers without ending up flamed to death. :-)
Heh. Okay, no problem -- I'll get the song for you when trickster comes back.

Sadly, probably not, actually. :) I'm not really an LJ person -- I got this to make a Yuletide story announcement, and that and site-update announcements will probably be it. I don't read LJ at all, I'm one of those people who gets driven crazy by it. :)

Hee! Thanks! I just got so fed up one day. And then I had to rant. *g*

I can understand that. I love it, but not every form of communication is right for every fan. I don't do chat, myself.

I'm with you on that. I wonder where some people pick this stuff up from. I mean, it's not in books the they read, presupposing that they actually do read books. Actually though, I have seen the phrase 'The other man' used once or twice in books. It made me cringe.
