new I-Man story

This is a late entry for slodwick's A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words challenge. It was due on Feb. 28, but I spaced and didn't get it done on time.

The idea was that you'd be assigned a picture, and have to write a story of exactly 1,000 words based on it -- literally, metaphorically, whatever.

My assignment picture:



The story I came up with was Playing Hooky, a slash Invisible Man story. Many thanks to marycrawford for the beta!

I went with I-Man for a very specific reason -- that being therienne. In case you're interested, it's better to read the story before reading this explanation (no, really *g*), so I'm putting this under tons of space in a cut.

See, I showed therienne that picture a day or so after I was assigned it. I liked the picture a lot -- tons of potential there, and very pretty!

Therienne: "Oh, that's trouble."

Me: "Er -- what?"

T: "Oh, please. Those birds are headed STRAIGHT FOR YOUR CAR!"

And as soon as she said that, I knew that this was going to be an Invisible Man story, and exactly how those birds were showing up. Because, you see, Therienne is Bobby Hobbes. Or, as she once said, "I think Bobby Hobbes may be my spirit tv character."

Heee.

Oh, that so works! Thanks for the story. I love Darien being playful and using the QS. (And, hey, if ice cubes in the mouth work that well.... Although he'd have to be careful. I doubt of Bobby would be particularly in the mood if Darien QSed his penis.)

Heh. Yeah, exactly what I was thinking, with the ice cubes. And I figure, Bobby gets *such* a tingly thrill out of being QSed, he'd probably even like it if Darien went a little overboard there by accident. *g* (Although he'd have to be reeeeeeeaally careful zipping back up. ahem.)

That was adorable. With the byplay, and the paranoia (bobbyhobbes!), and the hotness of the partnership. "I trust you, partner. I just think you're a little whacked, is all" -- that's really the perfect line for these guys. And wow, you thought of things to do with Quicksilver that made me, um, shiver. Hee!
