bundles of pinboard tags

I've been on vacation this week, and had intended to spend it playing around in layouts and webpages over on Hubzilla and basically trying to catch up over there. Instead I've been poking at AO3 customizations, and dusting off my old pinboard, and have spent most of the last two days sorting pinboard tags into bundles. This is ridiculous, and yet has made me so happy. \o/ I do not currently have so much as a single unbundled tag!

Which will change as soon as I finish sorting out the AO3 stuff (in this case in particular, a bookmarklet to post to pinboard directly from AO3), because the eventual plan is to have redundant copies of fanworks bookmarks & recs, which means there's an unholy amount of copying back and forth in my future. But they will be all tidy and organized, yessss.

In the hopes that it may be helpful to you, I wrote an AO3->Pinboard bookmarklet a while back - and a userscript in beta that will add a button to works/bookmarks listings (although I don't think anyone other than me is using that one right now). That's the bookmarklet I'm using! And in fact I was thinking just a few minutes ago that I should track you down and heap thanks upon you; I'm using a bunch of your scripts and bookmarklets. ♥ ♥ ♥ The one that fades out incomplete works is fantastic, too.

I've also got the share-to-pinboard userscript loaded, but I find that I like having the full fandom/title/author in the header line, so the bookmarklet is better suited to me. I suspect I'll be using it when it comes time to merge over my AO3 bookmarks to pinboard, though; easier to just edit the bits I need as I go.

(Er, by "sorting it out", I meant figuring out what I want it to say, to match my old pinboard naming schemes, especially after rediscovering that there's no bulk edit on pinboard tags. I know juuuuuust enough about code to be able to edit user scripts where the code says things like //Your Info Goes Here//, heh)

Oh good! I was momentarily concerned that you might be writing your own from scratch and wanted to potentially save you some time. But I'm really glad you're finding it useful!

I've contemplated adding a title format option before, but it seemed like adding even more complexity to an already ridiculously complicated bookmarklet form.

You don't really have to; the AO3 lets you set up your preferred browser page title format, so it's changeable on that end of things. It's a little limited - I can't get my preferred [Fandom] Title, by Author with the nice clean square brackets to match 15 years of delicious/pinboard bookmarking, but I can get -Fandom- Title, by Author, which is close enough.

And if I'm using the button on a works list, I can always just tweak by hand. :)
