I just added a recs page to my site. The first (huge) batch of recs covers more than 90 stories, in more than 50 fandoms -- the number of fandoms is thanks to the Yuletide archive, which is where a good many of these stories live.

Beyond Yuletide, a lot of these are older stories from older fandoms. Obviously, despite the numbers, I've barely scratched the surface; there are entire fandoms still missing, and lots of stories in the fandoms I've started in on that I didn't get around to adding. I'll be adding more eventually, but I don't know how often or extensively.

The two stories I wrote for the last couple challenges on [livejournal.com profile] sga_flashfic have been posted to my website:

Bailey's 7 (First Contact challenge)

Summary: McKay has an unfortunate encounter with one of the local denizens on a new world.
SGA, PG, McKay/Sheppard; 22k

and

Revisionist (Darkness challenge)

Summary: Rodney keeps his eyes closed.
SGA, NC-17; 2k (drabble)

Written for [livejournal.com profile] therienne's birthday and posted in the First Contact challenge on [livejournal.com profile] sga_flashfic.

Bailey's 7: SGA, h/c, McKay/Sheppard.

It'll go up on my website next week, after it's released from challenge posting restrictions.

The Stargate Handbook has just gone through some major changes. I expanded it to include Stargate Atlantis and redid the look of things a bit, and moved it to its own domain:

http://stargatehandbook.org

SG1 is currently updated through Prometheus Unbound.

SGA is currently updated through Hot Zone.

I've also created [livejournal.com profile] sg_handbook, which is where the more detailed announcement for this move/expansion/update is, and where all future Stargate Handbook announcements will go.

This is a late entry for [livejournal.com profile] slodwick's A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words challenge. It was due on Feb. 28, but I spaced and didn't get it done on time.

The idea was that you'd be assigned a picture, and have to write a story of exactly 1,000 words based on it -- literally, metaphorically, whatever.

The story I came up with was Playing Hooky, a slash Invisible Man story. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] marycrawford for the beta!

I went with I-Man for a very specific reason -- that being [livejournal.com profile] therienne. In case you're interested, it's better to read the story before reading this explanation (no, really *g*), so I'm putting this under tons of space in a cut.

Thanks to the hardworking Seah, trickster.org is back up and working beautifully, with sites slowly coming back on line as the site owners get them uploaded.

I've been uploading and making little fixes, and now my site is back up, including the SG Handbook.

My Yuletide story this year was written for for [livejournal.com profile] kirbyfest, and is gen Dead Zone. It's on the Yuletide archive here, and up at my own site here.

My Yuletide story won't be going up just yet, because the server my site is housed on is having some problems. When I get it uploaded, I'll announce it here.

After reading one too many stories full of epithets, I started writing an essay/ramble/rant thing about "elegant variation", which expanded into these cheesily named things:

Variety Is the Spice of Life... and I Need Some Tums (This one's sort of the 'base' essay.)

Purple Fanfic's (total lack of) Majesty

Epithets: Fandom's Designated Hitters

'Said' Is Not a Four-Letter Word

And, thanks to a bunch of friends who chimed in with examples from their fandoms, I pulled together a list of epithet examples from all over, just for fun:

Just in case my Secret Santa checks in here looking for clues...

I'm really very easy to please -- just knowing that there will be a story in one of those fandoms is making me happy. Write anything you want!

If you need a bit more, slash is my favorite take, but I'll be very happy with gen if that's what you go with. I'm much more about the characters themselves and their relationships with each other than any specific kinks. Recognizing the voices in a story is a huge happy button for me. I like everything from warm'n'fuzzy to angst, funny to bittersweet; I like fluffy PWPs and complex plots and everything in between. I love snarkiness, but don't require it. The darker end of the spectrum isn't generally my thing, but the only thing I can't read is domestic discipline.

So, pretty much -- write anything you want! *g* Whatever you're comfortable with will be great. And thank you so much!

I've just posted an Invisible Man New Year's Resolution story for Basingstoke -- Soft on the Inside -- to the Yuletide archive.

It's also on my own site, here.

It's gen Eberts & Official.

This isn't going to be a chatty LJ; I got it so I could post an announcement to the [livejournal.com profile] yuletide LJ, and I don't plan on using it for anything other than infrequent site-update announcements.
